Descriptions

Description
Tapestry woven band, square, and figures against plain field of dark linen. Band contains stumpy human figures (many appear nude) against blue, purple, and pink fields. Band has red border. Square with purple border contains nude human figures against a red medallion. Humans on foot and on horseback set directly into the plain linen field engage in combat.
Commentary
A selvedge is visible along one edge of this fragment. Some areas of the textile are stitched together with red thread and others with white. Most likely not part of a tunic due to the placement of the selvedge and the figural designs.

Similar design, colors, and subject matter to those of Cleveland Museum of Art 1982.288
