Industrial Problems, Coöperation: Germany. Leipzig: Coöperative Societies, Germany: Konsumverein, Leipzig.: Founded in 1884. In 1906 it had 37000 members. It is one of the largest German societies with 51 distributive branches, dealing in groceries, drapery, household articles, boots and shoes. Its productive department has mills, a bakery, dairy, laundry, and mineral water factory, employing a total of 779 persons. The Society pays a dividend of 10% and yearly sets aside a large sum for charitable, educational and other purposes. Every week it distributes 15000 copies of the Cooperative Journal gratis.
