Drawing of a woman with her back to the viewer in a plaid walking dress.

In this graphite drawing, a woman is the only element, and she dominates the center of the piece. She is wearing a plaid Victorian walking dress, which comprises of a jacket and skirt, and holds a square purse by the short strap. Her straight hair is pulled into a low bun, and she looks over her right shoulder towards the viewer. Her expression is flat, and her face is in profile in shadow. Her left foot is forward and her right is horizontal to the viewer, indicating that she is turning over that foot to look behind her.
