Descriptions

Description
Painted plain weave cotton duck canvas fragment with knife cut edges. The fragment has a white priming layer covered by a layer of dark red paint and a large drip of orange paint. There is a partial black marker inscription that appears to read "AV + W". The dark red paint is covered with two strokes of matte medium, applied diagonally with respect to the canvas weave.
