A black-and-white photograph of a light-skinned woman with long, dark, wavy hair in a billowy blouse looking downward.

This black-and-white photograph is a portrait of a woman whose long, dark, wavy hair and loose blouse occupy the bottom two thirds of the image, extending beyond the frame. The woman’s face is tilted so that her right eye is just visible behind her long, pointed nose. Her left eye is not fully open; she gazes down at something we cannot see, with her mouth closed and slightly down turned. The photograph is faded and yellowing at the edges.
