Bold diagonals are created by the stretched warps of a loom in the lower right of the composition and by a road running parallel to them above. Two men in the foreground count and separate warp threads while four other men tend the loom behind them. In the street above, a man in a white shirt and lungi walks down the street by a row of houses, leading the viewer's eye deeper into the airy composition.
