Sitter's information:

Colonel Farquharson

Sir Reginald Thynne (23 December 1834-30 December 1926). Major-General, KCB (1902). A grandson of the 2nd Marquess of Bath. Commander Northern District 1894-1902, formerly commanding 3rd Battalion Grenadier Guards. Served in Zululand, Egypt and Sudan. Married Louise (d. 18 January 1933) widow of Major William Ewing and daughter of Douglas du Bois 6 May 1890.

Colonel Tower

Lord William Hay (27 January 1826-25 November 1911). Succeeded his brother as 10th Marquess of Tweedale, 29 December 1878. Married Candida, DBE (d. 14 February 1921) daughter of Vincent Bartolucci, 18 May 1878. Lord William was MP for Taunton.

Captain Speirs

Honorable Harris Temple. Possibly a member of the family of the Dukes of Buckingham.

Lord Vivian. Charles Crespigny Vivian (24 December 1808-24 April 1886). 2nd Baron Vivian, Lord Lieutenant of Cornwall, Major in the Army. First married to Arabella (d. 26 January 1837) daughter of Rev. John Scott of Ballygannon, County Wicklow, 2 July 1833. Second marriage to Mary Elizabeth (d. 23 January 1907), daughter of John Panton of Plas Gwyn, Anglesey, 21 September 1841.
