Description
Ceramic pillow of waisted quadrangular form, molded on four sides with a basket-weave pattern, the flat ends stamped with dotted star-like diaper pattern; pinkish buff earthenware with lead-fluxed amber-yellow glaze over molded decoration.
Commentary
Compare to:
Sancai pillow of the identical form, similar molded decoration, and similar glaze but with touches of green excavated in 1984 from a Jin-dynasty site in Boshan district, Zibo, Shandong province, now in the Huantai County Museum, Shandong. See Zhongguo chutu ciqi quanji [Complete Collection of Chinese Ceramics Unearthed in China], vol. 6: Shandong (Beijing: Kexue chubanshe, 2008), no. 162.
