Description
Ceramic model of a cylindrical granary with angled, tiled roof and with three short legs, each in the form of a crouching bear; red earthenware with lead-fluxed, emerald-green glaze over molded decoration.
Commentary
Compare to:
(1) Yellow-green lead-glazed covered granary model of closely related form excavated in 2004 from a late Western Han brick tomb near in Xi’an, Shaanxi province. See Wenwu [Cultural Relics] 10 (2012): 97, pl. 4.
(2) Green lead-glazed granary model of very similar form excavated in 1956 from a late Western Han dynasty brick tomb near Hansenzhai village, Xi’an, Shaanxi province. See Wenwu [Cultural Relics] 5 (1960): 72, pl. 3.
(3) Yellow lead-glazed covered granary model with tiled roof and three bear-shaped legs excavated in 2004 from a late Western Han dynasty brick tomb near in Yuejiazhai village near Xi’an, Shaanxi province. See Wenwu [Cultural Relics] 5 (2006): 32, fig. 56.
