General Sir Charles Stuart K.B. / a great admirer of the military genius of her brother / Napoleon, was [ ] to obtain a likeness of / him and feeling grateful for services which / General Stuart had been able to render to the / Buonaparte family in Corsica, during his / Command there in 1794, she desired that this / drawing should be sent to him. / This to the best of my recollection was the history of the drawing which was given by / Anne-Louisa, Lady Stuart, Sir C.
