  • inscription: removed from old mount, now in curatorial file, graphite: View upon the Randall farm in Stowe, Mass. / being the road summit just above the house, looking toward Marlborough / at this point the road emerging from the wood descends suddenly and dividing at right angles / leads on the left to the Rockbottom Manufacturing village & on the right passes the house & farm buildings / and goes toward Bolton. / Sketched in June 1852, and finished, October 1852 by Henry Hitchings. Landscape Designer.
