A smudged, muted pastoral landscape with several simple buildings and a bridge over a low river.

In the bottom third of the composition a landscape lies under a grey sky. There is a shallow river flowing into the distance. On the left riverbank is a tall skinny tree with a few, short branches and no leaves. On the right bank there is a low white building with a faded red roof behind which there is a cluster of trees. A few small birds fly out of the trees, some landing on the tall skinny tree. A figure walks on a bridge over the river, the blue of their clothing is bright against the muted landscape.
