Descriptions

Description
Base of a draped sculpture which includes the right and left feet and bottom part of the drapery. The statue's right foot is flat on the base; the statue's left foot is crossed over the right and resting on its toes. The oval marble base is carved in one piece with the sculpture. The bottom of the base bears marks of a claw chisel throughout. Drill holes between big toe and second toe on both feet, as well as on the margin of drapery by the left side of the foot. The break on the upper surface appears to have been recut. There is the stump of a metal bolt or pin in the top.
