Monochromatic photograph of a single lily stem that’s burst open into two blooms and three buds at the tip.

Light enters from the upper right to illuminate the light-colored lily stem, it accentuates the glossy surface of the lily’s petals. The stamens reach out from the center towards the upper right. The second bloom on the left is in profile against a dark undescribed background, only its longest central stigma can be seen, reaching into the darkness. Three long narrow buds grow between the two blooms in the center, leaning left. The platinum print technique gives a soft warm tone overall to the photograph.
