G5716: Rotherhithe
PrintsTwo men sit in the foreground inside an area with a low wooden wall. The man on the left is younger. He looks toward the right. The man on the right is older and wears a black cap. He looks at the younger man. Behind the men is a shipyard. Many sailboats float on the water on the left. Their sails are folded up, but we can see the dark lines of their masts and rigging. On the right is the shoreline, which is full of wooden and brick buildings. The land extends toward the background and then curves around to the left behind the shipyard, forming the horizon.
