Swirling human figures flowing in a river are lifted into a whirlwind in a dark landscape.

In the foreground, a river is shown flowing horizontally along the bottom of the page. In it, naked human figures float in from the right side. They are all drawn into a whirlwind that rises up from the river, coiling around itself and rising into the dark sky at upper left. Within the spiraling force, the mass of bodies can be seen, variously falling, writhing, or embracing as they are carried off. On the bank of the river at right are two robed figures, one of whom looks down at another who lies on the ground. Above them, a woman and a man appear inside an enormous flame that curls upward.
