A nineteenth century scene of a crowd entering a cabaret

At center a woman stands with her back to us. She wears a dress with a low cut back and a tightly cinched waist and she holds her left hand on her hip. She wears her hair styled high, showing a black ribbon around her neck. Another more conservatively dressed woman stands to her right, and they survey a crowd of men in top hats and long coats. Beyond them, people in fancy attire are seated in an upper level. The figures and the room are tinted with areas of blue, olive green, washes of pale yellow, and masses of black.
