M12457: Yvette Guilbert: At Bruant's Ménilmontant
PrintsSoft, lightly sketched lines and textured shading show the head and torso of a woman on cream colored paper. Darker accents indicate her narrowed eyes, upturned lips and distinctively bulbous nose as she regards the viewer from the corner of her eye. She wears her hair back in a bun and a gown with a low cut neck and frilly shoulders. The background is implied by soft gray shading, a darker area at upper left indicating a further space in shadow.
