A group of men are gathered dressed in robes, in the center one man washes another’s feet in a basin.

The scene is lit by a large pillar with fire light in the left foreground. A kneeling man in the center (Christ) with his sleeves rolled up washes the feet of one of his apostles. Most of the men have beards, those in the back are grouped together in twos and threes having conversations. A few men in the middle ground are watching the central activity. A large curtain on the left is pulled back slightly revealing two men inside possibly stoking a fire. Moon and clouds are seen in the distance between stone buildings in upper right.
