M21954: Madonna and Child
PrintsThe figures are off center in the picture and situated on the right side, light illuminates them from the upper right. The mother looks lovingly at the child with her head tilted slightly to the right, she’s dressed in draped robes, and her hair is braided around her head. The child’s chest is covered in fabric, he has tight curly hair, his right arm is stretched out into his mother’s hand as he sleeps peacefully, his face turned toward the right. Rendered in dark earthy monotone, it has a dark background of an outdoor mountainous landscape.
