Provenance

Recorded Ownership History
Paul Gachet, Auvers, France (c. 1873-1909); to his son Paul Gachet. [Wildenstein & Co., Paris and New York, (c. 1950-1960) donated; to [auction to benefit the Museum of Modern Art, Parke-Bernet, April 27, 1960, lot 24, sold]; to David Rockefeller, New York, NY(1960-1976) gift; to Fogg Art Museum, 1976.

Notes
1999 Gachet collection exhibition catalogue dates his ownership to c. 1873-1909.
According to Douglas Cooper, Wildenstein received the painting directly for Gachet fils.
Some sources give a provenance of M. Buron, Paris, before Wildenstein. This is unverified and doubted by M. Potter, 10/4/76.
