Descriptions

Description
Shri raga is commonly represented as a ruler listening to two musicians. Here, the preparatory drawing features a seated ruler listening to two musicians, one plays a rudra vina and the other has his hands together, perhaps clapping a beat. The raga is meant to invoke fall harvest festivals and usually incorporates a representation of the outdoors. Here, the ruler is shown at the edge of a terrace. A large peacock perches on a wall. Rajput Style, Kota School.
