Descriptions

Description
Set against a seafoam green background is a portrait of an ageing Mughal courtier. He has a thick, greying beard. The figure wears a green-gold turban and a white robe (jama) which is tied at the waist with a gold waist sash (patka) decorated with irises on the ends. Tucked into his waist sash is a dagger. He holds out his left hand out while his right holds the hilt of a sword. He is adorned with a pendant necklace and armlet. The immediate border is blue with gold leaves, followed by a cream, then, blue, and finally orange outer border, all of which are speckled with gold.
