1991.179: A Nayika Awaits her Lover on a Winter Night
PaintingsA rectangular opaque watercolor painting depicting one woman sitting at the center wrapped in an orange veil and green cloth surrounded by a building’s white walls, and another hooded woman looking at her through a large window. The seated woman has her feet and arms close to her body and she gazes down. She has a small grey hookah, a thin guitar, a candlestick, and some pillows on the ground next to her. She sits on a floral pillow. The hooded woman is dressed in blue and holds a stick in her right hand and holds out her left hand to the seated woman. There is a red and white chevron patterned fabric above them across the top side. The image is framed by two thin frames, a dark blue with gold details and a green one. The frames are surrounded by a pink page that is speckled with red dots all over.
