1917.24: Broad-Shouldered Jar with Flaring Base and Decoration of Three Dragons, Each Pursuing a Brocade Ball
VesselsThis white porcelain jar has a narrow opening that flares out and then rounds back inward at the base, creating a rounded, broad-shouldered shape. The jar is painted with shades of blue. This side of the jar shows a dragon with a lion-like tail, large paws, wide white eyes, and a fanged mouth. The dragon pounces on a round object made up of concentric circles with four equidistant points around the edges. The leg of another dragon can be seen to the left. Swirling dark blue lines weave around the dragons.
