Catalogue entry no. 159 by Max Loehr:
159 Rabbit Figure Cut from a Disk Segment
Opaque, bone-colored jade with a few dark green spots; partly coated with red pigment. The overall bend and the outer edge show this awkwardly proportioned figure to have been fashioned from the segment of a disk. The clumsily outlined head with eyes indicated by two concentric circles has the same width as the body. The body is crenelated at the back, terminated haphazardly in a point, and is supported by only one pair of legs. Drill-holes at the mouth, above the feet, and near the pointed end. Plain surfaces, except for the incised outlines of the ears and paws. Shang or Western Chou.
