  • inscription: "Copied by the Recluse Lian" [Lian jushi, the artist's sobriquet]"
  • seal: Artist's seals:
    1) Following the artist's own inscription on the rock: "Lianchao" [Pan Gongshou's sobriquet]
    2) First seal following the colophon copied by the artist at the upper right): "Guiqian jingshe" [The Tortoise's Concealed Studio]
    3) Second seal following the colophon copied by the artist at the upper right): "Pan Shi Shenfu"
  • inscription: The inscription at the upper right is a copy of a colophon by Zhang Chong (ac. 1619-1651) that appeared on the original painting by Ma Shouzhen (1548-1604) upon which the present painting by Pan Gongshou is modeled after.
