Both sides of an irregularly shaped silver-gray coin with relief decoration on each side.　

On the side of the coin on the left is a male head, with long curly hair about his neck, face and topped with a laurel wreath. To the right, the Greek characters: H R A K L E I D A S. The other side of the coin depicts a man standing in a fast moving four-horse drawn vehicle facing left, holding the reins in his hands, with a winged female flying right carries a wreath to crown him. Below, a line under the horses’ hooves, the Greek characters: K A T A N A I O N. Below, a fish swims left. .
