Description
Spherical vessel with narrow cylindrical neck, everted lip, and short footring; lightly burnished black earthenware. Qujialing culture. From the middle Yangzi River region, Hubei or Hunan province.
Commentary
Compare to:
Slightly smaller black earthenware bottle of similar spherical form and with everted lip rim excavated from the Qujialing culture stratum at Huachenggang, Anxiang county, Hunan province. See Kaogu xuebao [Acta Archaeologica Sinica] 4 (1983): 527, pl. 7.2.
