- Description
- Small jar with elongated neck and flared lip; lightly burnished black earthenware. Dawenkou culture. From the middle and lower Yellow River valley regions; Shandong, northern Jiangsu, northern Anhui, and eastern Henan provinces.

Compare to:
(1) Small earthenware jar of very similar form excavated at a Dawenkou site at Yedian, Zouxian, Shandong province. See Shandong sheng bowuguan [Shandong Museum], Zouxian Yedian [Zouxian Yedian: A Neolithic Site] (Beijing: Wenwu chubanshe, 1985), pl. 52.3.
(2) Earthenware jar of similar form was excavated from a Dawenkou site at Laodongyu, Anqiu county, Shandong province. See Kaogu [Archaeology] 9 (1992): 788, fig. 11:14 and pl. 3:7.
