Descriptions

Description
This globular bucchero "spiral amphora" has two strap handles. The amphora is intact (one handle was broken and reattached), with some cracks around the base. The belly of the amphora is decorated on each side with an incised double spiral, above which is a group of dots; there is some red paint detectable in the spirals. Centered under the handles on each side is a large four-stroke incised W-shape, extending into the field around the double spiral. Whitish accretions have filled the incised decoration. A graffito in the shape of a double X is on the base.
