A rider sits atop a horse facing away

Quick black brushstrokes with washes of gray and white highlights on tan paper describe a man sitting on horseback. Wearing a pale gray cap and jockey’s silks, we see the man from behind in three quarter profile, riding away from the viewer. With his foot in the stirrup he holds the reins, leaning back to the left slightly and looking directly to the right. The horse’s back and the saddle have been lightly sketched in but the rest of the horse is left incomplete.
