The portrait is a head and shoulders view of George Washington. His face turns toward the viewer in a three-quarter view from the left. He has curly white hair at the temples and balding on top, closed mouth, his eyes look at the viewer. He wears a high neck white shirt under a dark jacket. The daguerreotype is set in a shiny golden oval frame. The surface of the glass has some surface abrasions and marks.
