Formal portrait of a woman and small girl sitting next to each other, facing forward, both look toward the viewer.

The woman on the right has dark hair neatly tied back, parted in the middle, wearing a dark dress with lace collar, the wide lace cuff is visible on her left hand. She delicately holds the girl’s small hand. The child sits on the left, she has dark hair parted in the middle and holds something in her right hand in her lap. Their faces are without expression, neither of them smiles. Hand painting has added pink to the cheeks of both sitters, and light blue coloring to the girl’s dress. Plain background, the glass has some surface spots.
