Recorded Ownership History
Toyen (Marie Cerminova), Prague, Czech Republic, inheritance, 1942, gift, 1978. The artist Toyen was Styrsky's companion and collaborator from 1922 until his death in 1942 at which time she inherited his work. She later (sometime between the mid-1960s to the late 1970s) gave a large group of Styrsky material to close friends in Paris from whom this work was acquired by Ubu Gallery in 1994.
