Mold-made terracotta head of a young man

Dull red-orange terracotta is molded into the form of the head and neck of a young man. Traces of pale rose colored paint remain on his face, especially around the eyelids and below the nostrils. Flecks of white also remain within the eyes around the irises. Incised lines accent the eyelids which sit heavily as the young man stares forward calmly. Individually molded locks of hair frame his face, and his neck flares outward slightly to form the sculpture’s base.
