Student Guide Tour: The Art of Pleasure, with Felipe Muñoz

This photograph shows five people are walking around display cases in a gallery. The people are slightly out of focus and one is partially out of the picture. Some of the cases are on the wall and some are in the middle of the gallery. Each case contains black- and brown-colored Greek ceramics. In the foreground on the left is a case containing ancient bronzes.

Felipe Muñoz ’22 explores how an Archaic Greek bowl, a Symbolist painting by Gustave Moreau, and a Bauhaus chess set by Josef Hartwig concern themselves with different kinds of pleasure.

The Ho Family Student Guide Program at the Harvard Art Museums trains students to develop original, research-based tours of the collections. These tours, designed and led by Harvard undergraduates from a range of academic disciplines, focus on objects chosen by each Student Guide and offer a unique, thematic view into the collections.

This program is supported by the Ho Family Student Guide Fund.
