A system of lines intersecting at right angles are drawn in pencil. In the spaces between parallel lines, strips are painted black, gray, cream, red or white, in horizontal or vertical bands which appear to go over and under each other as if woven. The design is surrounded by a wide blank border. Within the border below it, running the width of the design is a single narrow strip of blocks of the same colors. A small typed label at lower left reads, “Anni Albers III.1926 / Design for Jacquard Weaving”.
