Elizabeth Molacek specializes in art and architecture of the Classical world, specifically Roman wall painting and mosaics of the first through the fourth century CE. Molacek’s work at Harvard has been focused on the museums’ collection of Roman domestic art, which resulted in the publication of the online Special Collection Roman Domestic Art. Recent projects include a collaboration with colleagues in the Straus Center for Conservation and Technical Studies to investigate a first-century CE Roman wall painting in the collections, originally from the villa at Boscotrecase in central Italy.
