Mondrian: The Transatlantic Paintings focuses on a series of seventeen works created in Europe and reworked in America during the artist’s final years. The project is the culmination of extensive technical research on these paintings and provides valuable insight into Mondrian’s working process. This presentation encompasses interactive kiosks installed in the exhibition galleries, a web site (www.artmuseums.harvard.edu/mondrian), a major catalogue (published by Yale University Press), and educational programming, all of which advance the understanding and appreciation of one of the leading abstract artists of the twentieth century.

Organized by Harry Cooper, associate curator of modern art, Fogg Art Museum; and Ron Spronk, associate curator for research, Straus Center for Conservation and Technical Studies.
