Parking

Parking in the vicinity of the Art Museums is difficult, and is restricted to Cambridge residents only on many nearby local streets. There is some on-street metered parking. Visitors are encouraged to use the area's extensive public transit system, particularly the MBTA Red Line, which provides inexpensive parking at its Alewife station.

No parking is available at the Sackler Museum.

For certain evening and weekend functions, complimentary parking is available in Harvard University's Broadway Garage on Felton St. between Cambridge St. and Broadway.

Subway

The Art Museums and Adolphus Busch Hall are .25 miles from the Harvard Square subway station. This station is served by the Red Line of the MBTA's subway system as well as many bus lines. Please use the MBTA's trip planner to determine your best route.

Walking

From the center of Harvard Square, walking through historic Harvard Yard with its winding pathways can be a challenge, but well worth it if you have not visited before. From Harvard Square, enter any gate and walk directly through the center of the Yard, between Widener Library and Memorial Church, and exit through the gate on Quincy Street. Our historic building at 32 Quincy Street (now closed for renovation) will be directly in front of you. Turn left on Quincy Street. At the corner, you will see the Arthur M. Sackler Museum adjacent at 485 Broadway (walking time approx. 5 minutes).

Alternatively, locate Holyoke Center, a 10-story building in the center of Harvard Square. Cross over Massachusetts Avenue toward the large brick and iron fence that surrounds Harvard Yard. Follow the sidewalk to the right, down Massachusetts Avenue along the edge of Harvard Yard, and take the first left onto Quincy Street. Walk down Quincy Street to the first traffic light. At the traffic light, the Arthur M. Sackler Museum is adjacent at 485 Broadway (walking time approx. 10 minutes).
