Vizkidz: Learning about Data Visualization for Kids

Vizkidz: Penelope Pie and her friends Laney Line, Barnaby Barchart, and Bertie Boxplot.

Special Event

Harvard Art Museums
32 Quincy Street, Cambridge, MA

At a time when data and its application are considered fundamental to most industries, Vizkidz offers young people a head start by introducing the core concepts of data visualization through characters such as Penelope Pie, Laney Line, Barnaby Barchart, and Bertie Boxplot. Join author Liv Buli, a data journalist, to explore the wonderful world of Vizkidz and learn about the basic concepts of data visualization. She’ll read from her book Penelope Pie Throws a Pizza Party, the first book in the Vizkidz series. She’ll also guide kids in hands-on activities that explore works of art and collections from the Harvard Art Museums.

This event will be presented four times:
Friday, April 21, 10:30–11:30am and 2:30 to 3:30pm
Saturday, April 22, 10:30–11:30am and 2:30 to 3:30pm

This event is presented in conjunction with the Cambridge Science Festival (April 14–23, 2017).

This event will take place in Deknatel Hall, Lower Level.

Free with museums admission. Children and families of all ages are encouraged to attend.
