Performance

Harvard Art Museums
32 Quincy Street, Cambridge, MA

Neil Heyde, professor at the University of London’s Royal Academy of Music, will give a solo cello performance of short works composed by Harvard students Eric Corcoran, Sumire Hirotsuru, Auburn Lee, Cynthia Meng, Samuel Pottash, Brandon Snyder, and Fraser Wiest; he will also perform Projection 1 (1950) by Morton Feldman, an iconic American composition notated on graph paper. The student compositions were created for Professor Richard Beaudoin’s course Composition: Proseminar, and were inspired by works of art in the Harvard Art Museums collections. The related works can be viewed in the University Study Gallery on Level 3.

The event will be held in the Calderwood Courtyard, which is accessible without the purchase of gallery admission.

Modern and contemporary art programs at the Harvard Art Museums are made possible in part by generous support from the Emily Rauh Pulitzer and Joseph Pulitzer, Jr., Fund for Modern and Contemporary Art.
