ARTS FIRST at the Harvard Art Museums: Music in the Courtyard

As part of the ARTS FIRST Festival, organized by the Office for the Arts at Harvard, the Harvard Art Museums will present an afternoon of student performances in a wide variety of styles, from chamber music to original student compositions inspired by the museums.

New Grooves: Original Music Inspired by Visual Art
Site-specific compositions by student composers Eden Girma ’18, Max Lesser ’19, Jonah Philion ’18, Carlos Snaider ’17, Brandon Snyder ’18, and Sam Wu ’17

2:30–4:20pm
Music 189 Chamber Ensembles
Students of the Parker Quartet
Excerpts of works by Beethoven, Sinding, Ravel, Nielsen, Brahms, and Dvořák

4:30–4:50pm
Harrison Li ’18
Solo piano: Chopin’s Nocturnes Op. 9, Nos. 1 and 2, Sonata No. 3

This program will take place in the Calderwood Courtyard.

Free admission. Seating is first come, first served.

ARTS FIRST (April 27–30, 2017) is an annual festival organized by the Office for the Arts at Harvard that showcases student and faculty creativity on campus.

Please note that the Harvard Art Museums are offering free admission on Saturday, April 29, to support ARTS FIRST programming.
