Silkscreens follows the choreography of printmakers at work as they pull the edition of Johns’s print, The Dutch Wives. Johns himself does not appear in this film. A print of The Dutch Wives was on view as part of the exhibition Jasper Johns / In Press: The Crosshatch Works and the Logic of Print.
Silkscreens is a film by Katy Martin. The video is from a DVD of the original film, which was shot in Super 8mm from 1978–81. Richard Teitelbaum captured the sound.
