Painting and Sculpture in Postwar Germany

This talk will address four works that engage provocatively with the traditions of painting and sculpture and are shaped by issues in postwar German society: Gerhard Richter’s Table (1962), Georg Baselitz’s Curly Head (1967), Joseph Beuy’s Back Support for a Fine-Limbed Person (Hare-Type) of the 20th Century A.D. (1972), and Rosemarie Trockel’s Shutter (c) (2006).
Free with the price of admission. Open to the public.
Gallery talks are informal and include discussion.
