Steve Locke, Associate Professor, Massachusetts College of Art and Design
Boston-based artist Steve Locke will explore relationships between and among men in his drawings and paintings. His own interest in the exchange of looks, the privilege of looking, and the wish to be seen will inform his response to the monumental woodcut by Kerry James Marshall, on view in Recent Acquisitions, Part III: Kerry James Marshall. Locke will share his reactions to the methods, materials, and meanings he finds in Marshall’s work and will discuss his long relationship with the artist’s oeuvre.
Free with price of admission.
Gallery talks are informal and include discussion. Limited to 25 participants; please arrive early.
