Final Weeks: Kerry James Marshall

12/12/2012

Don’t miss your chance to see Recent Acquisitions, Part III featuring Kerry James Marshall’s Untitled (1998/2007). Marshall’s monumental 12-panel woodcut print references 17th-century genre painting in order to complicate viewer expectations of the everyday lives of African Americans. The work, whose installation was quite an impressive feat, is on view through December 29.

If you missed Marshall’s ArtisTalk, learn more about his artistic process in this segment from Art21.
