A black-and-white photograph portrays the side of a building from the perspective of a Venetian canal.

A black-and-white photograph portrays the side of a building from the perspective of a Venetian canal. The water is still and glass like, reflecting the side of the building. In the center of the photograph is a six-step entryway to an alley, the steps vanish into the canal. To the left of the alley are two large decorative iron balconies. Garments are draped over the balcony furthest to the left. To the right of the alley is a closed double door featuring two steps leading into the canal. Atop the doors is a semicircle with decorative iron work. Two small circular windows adorn either side. Both are bordered in light stone with the same ornamental iron detail covering the glass. To the far right is closed rectangular doorway with one stone step leading into the canal.
